Schools are the largest part of our work. Primary and secondary schools, special schools, academy trusts, colleges and universities, with the roofing planned around term dates, exam periods and children on site, and the funding paperwork supported from the first survey.
Summer and Easter holidays are booked a year ahead, but a good deal of school roofing has to happen in term. We phase the roof so classrooms below are never open overnight, use cold applied systems to remove hot works, and manage deliveries, skips and scaffold around the school day. Calthorpe Academy was delivered in term with children present.
Every operative is DBS checked where the school requires it, signs in and works to the school safeguarding policy. The contracts manager agrees the site rules with the school business manager before anyone arrives.
Our free condition surveys, budget costs and specifications are used by schools and trusts to prepare Condition Improvement Fund and capital bids. South and City College used our reports for exactly that and said so in writing.

Yes. Most of our school work involves some term time working. The roof is phased so no area is left open, cold applied systems avoid hot works over classrooms, and the working day, deliveries and scaffold movements are agreed with the school in advance.
Where the school or trust requires it, yes, and all operatives follow the school safeguarding policy and sign in and out. Site rules are agreed with the school before the project starts.
