Roofing is work at height on buildings full of people, and we treat it that way. A chartered health and safety advisor, a construction phase plan and RAMS for every project, weekly inspections by the contracts manager, and our own safety netting division, Absolute Netting, with FASET trained riggers.
Dennis Haycox, our health and safety advisor, is a chartered health and safety manager who has specialised in construction and roofing health and safety since 1999. He makes sure our staff and our clients are kept safe in the planning, during the works and on completion.
Our contracts managers produce the construction phase plan and the risk assessments and method statements for each project before it starts, in a comprehensive form and in good time, as South and City College Birmingham noted in writing. We act as principal contractor under CDM where the project requires it.
Our operatives are CITB trained and manufacturer trained across every system we install. Site supervision is by our own site supervisor and the contracts manager inspects weekly.
CHAS, SafeContractor, Constructionline Gold, Achilles and Acclaim accreditation, and NFRC membership, with £10 million employers and £5 million public liability insurance.
Absolute Netting is our in house safety netting division, offering a comprehensive, nationwide safety netting installation service. All nets are tested and repaired in accordance with the manufacturer guidelines.
Safety netting is manufactured in accordance with BS EN 1263-1 and installed by our FASET trained riggers. We can use numerous fixing techniques and specially designed clamps to meet the needs of every client and structure. The safety netting is fitted to the underside of the roof area and stays in place for the duration of the roofing works.
The mansafe lines we install are fully compliant with the latest health and safety regulations. They give easy to use access for operatives while being fully anchored to the roof line system. We liaise with the customer throughout and can provide a full design of the layout of the safety line, which varies with the roof shape and the individual requirements of each client.
