Roofing contractors for NHS estates and care settings

Hospitals, health centres, clinics and care homes stay open while their roofs are replaced. We work to the trust permit systems, keep plant and services running, and use cold applied and low odour systems so wards and consulting rooms underneath are not disturbed.

How we work in this sector

Healthcare, done the way the building needs

Live sites and permits

NHS estates run on permits to work, infection control and plant that cannot be switched off. Our contracts managers work within those systems, plan the roof around the theatre schedule and the plant room, and keep the estates team informed weekly.

Low odour, no hot works

Cold applied liquid and single ply systems remove naked flames from the roof and keep solvent odour out of the air handling. Where a hot applied system is the right specification, it is planned with the estates team and the fire officer.

Plant, services and access

Healthcare roofs are crowded with plant, ductwork and services. Liquid applied membranes encapsulate every penetration seamlessly, plant is lifted or worked around under a method statement, and mansafe lines are installed so the roof can be maintained safely afterwards.

Frameworks and compliance

Constructionline Gold, CHAS, SafeContractor and Achilles accreditation, full employers and public liability insurance, and full CPP and RAMS for every project, so pre-qualification is straightforward.

Questions

Asked and answered

Can you work on a hospital roof while it is in use?

Yes. We work within the trust permit to work system, coordinate with estates and infection control, and phase the roof so the areas below are never exposed. Cold applied systems keep hot works and odour off the site.

How do you deal with roof plant?

By surveying it first. Plant is worked around, lifted on temporary supports or, where it is being replaced anyway, coordinated with the M&E contractor. Every penetration is detailed and encapsulated.

Are you accredited for NHS frameworks?

We hold Constructionline Gold, CHAS, SafeContractor, Achilles and NFRC membership and are fully insured for all aspects of roofing work, with certificates available on request.

Do you install mansafe systems for estates teams?

Yes. Permanent fall arrest lines are designed and installed as part of the roofing contract so the estates team can access the roof safely for maintenance.

Can you carry out a condition survey across a trust estate?

Yes. Multi-site surveys with a prioritised programme and budget costs are a normal starting point for healthcare estates.
