Overcladding puts a new insulated profiled metal roof or wall over the existing sheeting without stripping it, which keeps the building weathertight and in production and avoids disturbing asbestos cement. Alongside it we replace sheeting, rooflights and gutters across industrial estates, plants and distribution sites.
A spacer system is fixed through the existing sheet to the purlins, insulation goes between, and a new profiled metal sheet finishes the roof. The result is a new roof with a much better U-value, with the old sheet left safely in place and no production lost.
The same principle on the walls: a new insulated, coloured profiled or micro-rib cladding over the existing skin, transforming the look of a tired industrial unit and its thermal performance at the same time. Curved and feature profiles are available.
Overcladding is the recognised route for asbestos cement roofs and walls that are sound but ageing: the existing sheet is encapsulated rather than removed. Where removal is required, licensed contractors within the Absolute Group carry it out under the same contract.

Yes, and it is one of the main reasons to overclad. The asbestos cement sheet is left undisturbed and encapsulated. If any sheets have to come out, a licensed contractor within the group does that work.
Significantly. A single skin metal or asbestos cement roof has effectively no insulation. An overclad build-up with insulation between the spacer system will typically meet current Building Regulations for a refurbished roof.
No. All the work is from the outside and the existing roof stays in place, so production and storage continue underneath. Fragile roofs are netted from below by our own FASET trained riggers.
Yes. Curved sheeting, micro-rib panels, feature colours and horizontal or vertical laying are all available, and are often used on the office elevation of an industrial unit to lift its appearance.
