Absolute Waterproofing secured a substantial contract, through a normal competitive tender process, with the College to undertake range of roofing works. The contract involved some:

1. Work of four college campuses
2. On modern and Grade II Listed buildings
3. High level inspection work
4. Some minor asbestos removal work
5. Temporary removal of rooftop M&E services, including specialist crane lifting
6. Recovering and insulating of flat roofs
7. Replacement and improvements to rainwater drainage
8. Infilling and replacing new rooflights
9. Rebuilding a dilapidated chimney
10. Repairs to existing slate and clay tiled roofs, including lead flashings.

The contract value was over £450K.

Quality of customer service, timely communications, and quality of project management.

All been excellent. Given the very challenging situation with lockdown, they have been highly responsive and flexible in their approach. The Absolute Waterproofing contracts team was always easy to contact via his mobile and email. I would have no hesitation in considering Absolute Waterproofing for future roofing works at the College.

Quality of the product and rectification of defects.

Utilised tried and tested products and solutions, all signed off by the manufacturers with a 20-year insurance backed materials and workmanship guarantee. They have been very proactive in picking up issues left by previous contractors. Any minor issues have been promptly rectified.

Management of health and safety standards and working within an educational environment.

Very high standard maintained throughout contract. Pre-contract construction phase plan and RAMS all issued in a comprehensive form and in a timely manner. No H&S incidents reported on any site.

Delivery of the project within the designated schedule of works.

Fully complied with the project specification and schedule of works. Variations were presented with costed options for the College to consider. All works have been completed within agreed timescales. Worked flexibly over weekends, without additional cost, to ensure programme slippage due to bad weather was made up.

Delivery of the project within the budget parameters.

All works has been delivered within agreed budgets. Value for money has been achieved. Absolute Waterproofing has also provided the College with some professional advice on future roofing works and has assisted in organising, at no cost to the College, surveys, inspection reports and budget costs. This valued added service, has been very helpful in preparing and submitting capital support bids.
